The county seat of Claiborne County, Mississippi, is Port Gibson. The county population on July 1, 1999, was 11,596, an increase of 226 over the 1990 census.

 

 

A. W. Watson Elementary School is located in the heart of Port Gibson, commonly known as “PG”.  Port Gibson is also, the home of the Blue Waves. That’s the name of Port Gibson High School mascot.
